North Central Kansas Rural Business Development Tax Credit Program
Tax credits are available for 2008 through the North Central Kansas Rural Business Development Tax Credit Program. Four years after the Kansas Legislature adopted the Kansas Economic Growth Act, which among other initiatives created the Rural Business Development Tax Credit (RBDTC) program, the North Central Kansas RBDTC program has received more than $1.7 million.
The City of Enterprise had a ribbon cutting in December 2007 to celebrate completion of its combination library/fire station in the downtown area. The city received a KAN STEP grant award of $253,500 from the Kansas Department of Commerce Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the summer of 2005. [Read More]
More than 200 individuals from Tipton, located in Mitchell County, and the surrounding rural community worked together to complete an addition to its existing gymnasium/community building in the downtown area. The project, which was completed during the winter of 2006, was partially funded by the Kansas Department of Commerce KAN STEP program. The grant was awarded in January 2005. [Read More]
The City of Beattie, located in North Central Marshall County one mile north of U.S. Highway 36, made improvements to its sewage treatment lagoon system, thanks to help from a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Kansas Department of Commerce and a loan from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The city was awarded a grant in the amount of $183,162 January 2007 and took out a low-interest loan in the amount of $183,163 through the Kansas Wastewater Pollution Control Revolving Loan fund. OCCK Inc., a non-profit corporation based in Saline County, recently completed a project to construct an addition to its facility in Beloit. OCCK Inc. has provided services to disabled children and adults in North Central Kansas for over 34 years. The Beloit facility contains a work center that serves Mitchell, Jewell and Lincoln counties. The Kansas Department of Commerce Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program provided funding for the project. The CDBG application was sponsored by Mitchell County. [Read More]
