Funding Resources

The Arts Everywhere grant program provides funding for cultural projects, programs, exhibitions, series, arts education projects, and other arts programming. Maximum grant amounts range from $1,000 to $20,000 depending on category and eligibility. KCAIC requires that all grants are matched at a minimum of 1:1 through a combination of cash and in-kind expenses. Established 501(c)(3) organizations, Federally recognized tribal communities, and units of local governments are eligible to apply. Arts Everywhere grants are awarded in four categories:

Provides stipend to hire a Champion to fill gap in capacity to complete a needed project. Developed by the Kansas Department of Commerce’s Office of Rural Prosperity (ORP), in partnership with the Kansas Sampler Foundation (KSF) and the Patterson Family Foundation, this program seeks to address critical public needs in rural communities and build capacity moving forward. Maximum award amount is $20,800. A 25% match is required.

This program assists with improvements to all public-use airports except those classified as Primary airports. The program focuses on preservation and enhancement of the Kansas airport system through airfield pavements, lighting, weather systems, navigational aids, planning grants and aeronautical surveys for instrument approaches, etc. Funds are not intended to be used as sponsor’s match for a federal project. Planning projects may qualify.

Program that funds projects in one or more of the three following categories: motorized, nonmotorized, or diversified recreational trail or trail-related projects. Grant provides an 80/20 match on a reimbursement basis for eligible recreational trail and trail-related projects. Proposals that improve ADA and environmental impacts will receive a high priority.

Program provides 50 percent reimbursement to selected outdoor recreation projects that are sponsored by political subdivisions and other appropriate public agencies. Qualifying projects include development and/or acquisition of outdoor facilities for the purpose of public recreation.

No-cost energy assessments to small businesses, agricultural producers, and non-profit entities provided by the Kansas Energy Program with K-State Engineering Extension. To be eligible, you must be located in Kansas and be an agricultural producer, small business, or non-profit.

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) are funded by federal dollars under Title IV-B. The 21st CCLC programs are intended to create community learning centers that provide academic and enrichment opportunities for children outside of the regular school day. In order to qualify for 21st CCLC funds, grantees must meet the following absolute priority: The grant will primarily serve students who attend schools eligible for Title I Schoolwide programs. Title I Schoolwide designation typically means that at least 40% of the students qualify to receive free or reduced-cost meals.
