Mini grants for eligible Kansas nonprofits to test innovative ideas that address health and health equity.

Grants to organizations and businesses that are planning projects to expand healthy food access at the retail level in low-resource and underserved areas of Kansas.

A planning assistance program to help communities develop strategies and an action plan to revitalize their Main Streets through outdoor recreation. Eligible applicants include local governments, Indian tribes, and nonprofit institutions and organizations representing any community in the United States. Special consideration given to communities that are small towns, economically disadvantaged, and/or in the Northern Border region of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. Recreation Economy for Rural Communities is not a grant program. Partner communities will receive help from a planning team to consider challenges and opportunities, convene a community workshop, and develop an action plan for community revitalization through the recreation economy. The assistance is strictly for planning and cannot be used for brick and mortar projects.

Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) will support states, local communities, tribes and territories as they undertake hazard mitigation projects, reducing the risks they face from disasters and natural hazards.

The Flood Mitigation Assistance Program is a competitive grant program that provides funding to states, local communities, federally recognized tribes and territories. Funds can be used for projects that reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings insured by the National Flood Insurance Program.

The Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) grant program makes federal funds available to state, local, tribal and territorial governments to plan for and implement sustainable cost-effective measures designed to reduce the risk to individuals and property from future natural hazards, while also reducing reliance on federal funding from future disasters.

A grant program to help communities implement hazard mitigation measures following a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration in the areas of the state, tribe, or territory requested by the Governor or Tribal Executive. Through this program, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) can provide funds to States and local governments to implement mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future disasters. FEMA provides up to 75 percent of the funds for mitigation projects. The Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) administers this Federal grant program. Project examples include but are not limited to acquisition/demolition, relocation, elevation in hazard prone areas and safe room construction.
