Leadership Training Sponsorship

McKinney Leadership Training Scholarship

The North Central Regional Planning Commission (NCRPC) encourages a culture of learning, leading and teaching. We are pleased to sponsor one individual each year to participate in the Kansas Leadership Center’s introductory training program — “When Everyone Leads.” This program is offered in-person in Wichita, Kansas, or virtually.

The McKinney Leadership Training Scholarship covers the cost of attending the training for an individual living and/or working in North Central Kansas (NCRPC 12-county service area) who has shown commitment to improving their community or work place. The award is named in honor of Doug McKinney, who was NCRPC Executive Director for 12 years and passionate about leadership during his 34-year tenure with the organization.

What it Covers

The North Central Regional Planning Commission will sponsor up to one (1) individual per fiscal year (April 1-March 31), pending the availability of funding. The award will cover the “When Everyone Leads” course tuition, required texts, and reimbursement for one night of lodging (if attending the training in person). If chosen, a code will be provided for the recipient to complete online KLC registration for the date of their choice. Visit the Kansas Leadership Center for a list of available training dates. Receipts for reimbursement for lodging are due within 60 days of the training event.
