image of contractor opportunities promotionWe are currently seeking qualified housing and/or HVAC contractors to bid contract work for our housing programs. Opportunities exist for the Weatherization Assistance Program and the Housing Rehabilitation and Demolition Program.

The NCRPC has provided administration and inspection services for the Weatherization Assistance Program since 1978 and the Housing Rehabilitation Program since 1979. We have a long history of successfully working with contractors and clients.

About the Programs and What is Included

Weatherization HVAC and/or Housing Contractor Work May Include the Following:

  • Furnaces found to be unsafe will be repaired, if possible, or replaced.
  • Infiltration work such as patching foundation, caulking and weather stripping windows and exterior doors; sealing or replacing broken glass.
  • Installation of wall and attic insulation, dense pack and loose fill.
  • Installation of gable or roof vents, exhaust fans.

A NCRPC inspector conducts a pre-inspection to determine the amount of work necessary and a final inspection to determine if all the work has been completed.

Individual contracts generally average between $5,500 and $15,000.

About the Weatherization Assistance Program

Weatherization provides improvements that increase energy savings for income eligible households. The NCRPC serves weatherization clients in a 41-county area of North Central and Northwestern Kansas including the counties of Barton, Cheyenne, Clay, Cloud, Decatur, Dickinson, Ellis, Ellsworth, Geary, Gove, Graham, Greeley, Jewell, Lane, Lincoln, Logan, Marshall, Mitchell, Ness, Norton, Osborne, Ottawa, Phillips, Pottawatomie, Rawlins, Republic, Riley, Rooks, Rush, Russell, Saline, Scott, Sheridan, Sherman, Smith, Thomas, Trego, Wabaunsee, Wallace, Washington, and Wichita counties. Contractors may choose to work on homes in certain areas or counties.

Housing Rehabilitation Work May Include the Following:

Repairs to roof, electric, heating, plumbing, structural, lead paint remediation, and weatherization work.

A NCRPC inspector conducts a pre-inspection to determine the amount of work necessary and a final inspection to determine if all the work has been completed.

Individual contracts generally average between $15,000 and $30,000.

  • City of Lincoln Center

The grant locations for the Housing Rehabilitation and Demolition Program vary from year to year, but does occur within our 12-county region. These counties include Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Ellsworth, Jewell, Lincoln, Marshall, Mitchell, Ottawa, Republic, Saline, and Washington.

About the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation and Demolition Program

Housing Rehabilitation’s main goal is to provide an added 20-year lifespan to a home for low to moderate income households. The goal of the Demolition sector of the program is to enhance future growth by taking down dilapidated structures.
